Right now I am evaluating a Ph.D. thesis on dark energy. In the acknowledgement she writes
"Foremost, I want to offer this endeavor to our God Almighty for the wisdom he bestowed upon me, the strength, the peace of mind and good health in order to finish this Ph.D. work."
I don't know why, but after this type of statement is scientific paper I find it hard to get going.
